On March 27th Vice President of the Government of Serbia and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure prof. dr Zorana Mihajlović opened the Conference “Transport and Logistics of South-East Europe and the Danube Region – TIL 2019”. As a traditional participant, Nelt took part in the panel “Supply Chain Security Challenges”.
Ivan Milićević, Manager of Logistics Business Development Nelt Group, pointed out the importance of the Nelt’s implemented security system which is continually being developed.
“Nelt, as a long-standing participant in supply chains of challenging markets in the Western Balkans and sub-Saharan Africa, and a partner with leading brands in the global market, places great emphasis on the security. The Nelt Group’s security system is based on the protection of individuals, businesses, and property of all companies in the Group. Following global trends and business requirements, we work in accordance with ISO28000, ISO 27001 and TAPA FSR and TAPA TSR requirements.”
Milićević emphasized, in particular, the importance of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status, which, in response to security challenges, was defined after the attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001.
In 2017 Nelt was awarded the highest level of this status – AEO F – which confirmed the compliance of high-security requirements across the company’s supply chain.
“The AEO F status is the result of teamwork of several sectors in the company – logistics, foreign trade, security, finance, IT and HR. Thanks to the status of the Authorized Economic Operator, we can provide our customers with fast customs clearance and, more importantly, an extremely high standard of security and safety. Certification is important for Nelt, and at the same time it is proof of the high quality of services we provide,” Ivan said. He also pointed out that the certificate enables simplified and accelerated customs procedures, resulting in shorter transport times, cost savings and improvement in meeting customer requirements.
